In August, 2012 Brian Nakamura was hired as City Manager of Chico, California. This website has been put together by concerned citizens in an effort to bring to light:
*It is entirely possible that we are not really missing any money, but this is an important issue to address and clarify due to the many descriptions of Dark Days that are leading us down the path of Privatizing City Services and Selling City Resources.
This website will continually be updated, if you have information that you can provide either anonymously or on the record, please contact us.
- Brian Nakamura's extremely questionable history as city manager of other towns.
- The efforts already underway to privatize and sell off public assets of Chico.
- The more than $20 Million found missing from Chico's General Fund once Brian Nakamura replaced Chico's Finance Director (Jennifer Hennessy) with one of his choosing (Chris Constantin). There has yet to be sufficient explanation given for our missing funds and so far no one has been held accountable.*
- The suspicious and sudden departure of several long-time City of Chico employees after complaints to the media that Brian Nakamura was creating a hostile workplace.
- The recent consolidation of power into a few within our city government, particularly City Manager Brian Nakamura (from Hemet), Assistant City Manager Mark Orme (also from Hemet), and Chris Constantin (a recent and sudden hire from San Diego where he was facing charges on ethics violations -and found guilty).
